Children are included in all aspects of our church life.
Sunday Morning Education – 9:15 am - 10:15 am
We offer Sunday School for children from age 2 years-5th grade. Children are divided in to three classes: 2-5 year olds not yet in kindergarten, Kindergarten - 2nd grade, and 3rd-5th grades.
We use the Live Big Curriculum which is a fun interactive. We will also have guest presenters once a month to do special activities with the children.
Children’s Sunday Morning Worship
All Children are invited to sit with their families and come forward for the children's moment. After the children's moment children age 3 - 2nd grade will follow the light to children's church Worship and Wonder. Through Children Worship & Wonder, children learn about God as they experience God. They hear Bible stories in a way that allows them to enter into the stories and form responses out of their own life experiences. All other children are encouraged to get the notebooks located in the narthex with children's activities and bulletin that follows Pastor Guy's sermons.
Sunday Morning Nursery
Loving Child Care
Sunday School at First Christian begins from the earliest moments of a child's life. Although our babies aren't learning Bible stories yet, they are being loved and cared for by our nursery staff. Parents are issued a pager upon checking their child into the nursery and can be immediately notified, should a need arise.
Walkers
Toddlers experience God through relationships with caregivers and friends and through manipulating their environment. Our beginners are just starting to learn to obey rules and play nicely with others. They come to know God through care, attention, encouragement, and loving guidelines. The classroom is equipped with blocks, art materials, areas for make believe, push and pull toys, safe climbing equipment, and lots of room to move about. The children are encouraged to question and explore, and caregivers always have time to listen.
7 Sunday Afternoon Ministries
We are have Sunday Afternoon activities for children ages kindergarten through fifth grade. We start at 3:00 in with Ms. Becky for choir and then at 3:30-4:30 we have a bible study and activities such as games and crafts. Our theme for the fall is Go Green! Come learn about how to take care of the God's creation. Children's Ministry is going green, catch the wave and recycle! During the 7 week program we will collect plastic bottle caps for recycling. The child who brings in the most bottle caps wins 3 movie tickets and a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. We will meet for this program through October 23.
We will not meet October 9th due to Fall Break.

September 18 - Church wide Fish Fry, activities for the whole family
October 23 - Trip to Tate Pumpkin Farm
October 29 - Reverse Trick or Treating, wear your costumes as we visit nursing homes and the home bound.
