Here at First Christian Church, we have a very close, tight-knit youth group. I have made some of my very best friendships here and I know that they will always be here for me. . . . one of our teenagers at First Christian Church
Any teen or parent at First Christian Church can tell you how special our youth programs thanks the leadership of Beth Thomason, our Youth Minister. Beth's husband, Tim, also plays an active role in the life of our youth programs, including leading the youth Sunday School class. In keeping with the inclusionary reputation of the Disciples of Christ, our youth lead Sunday services, share communion, and hold leadership positions in our congregation.

God has invited us to live an adventurous life with him. A life of discovery, joy, and wonder where our faith affects the way we live. Our youth spend time together, learn to navigate the Bible, get to know God through their studies, and gain a better understanding of how God is leading us on an adventure. Best of all, our youth have a great time while expanding their relationship with God in a fun setting.
Led by Kristi Hill, teenagers enjoy a wide variety of music activities, from handbells to youth choir. To find out more, click Music.
Led by Beth Thomason, teenagers participate in youth activities for middle school (Chi Rho) and high school youth (Christian Youth Fellowship) on Sunday afternoons during the school year in the youth suite, upstairs from the church office. Your teens can share a meal with their friends, along with a time of fun, learning, and fellowship.
The youth take a mission trip every year in which they form life-long friendships and share their personal relationship with our Lord with others in need. Your teen will grow in so many ways during these trips! Past missions have included trips to nursing homes, roofing projects in Florida, and work projects on the Yakama Indian Reservation and the Blue Ridge mountains.
All youth grades 6-12 participate in summer youth camps held at Hargis, Alabama. Wait until your young person comes home from one of these camps, talking about all the fun he or she had there!
